What is Covid-19?
Coronaviruses are a family of viruses that can cause disease. Often they can cause mild illnesses such as the common cold. In 2019, a new strain of this virus was identified in Wuhan, China which appeared to cause more severe disease. This particular strain of virus was called SARS-CoV-2 and the subsequent illness called COVID19. COVID19 was declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organisation on the 11th March 2020.
