Researching patients experiences of recovering from pneumonia
Following treatment for Community Acquired Pneumonia (CAP), the resolution of symptoms for CAP has been shown to lag behind clinical cure as assessed by the clinical team. Return to pre-pneumonia levels of fitness and general health has been reported to take over 3 months. Almost all research on CAP has focused on early diagnosis and treatment. It has been identified that there is very little research on the post-hospital needs and interventions in the management of CAP.
We are now recruiting patients to a study that aims to capture the specfic and detailed insight, knowledge and experience of their recovery journey. We are also recruiting Healthcare Professionals to explore their knowledge of patient recovery and their views on the current provision of care, in order to inform and direct recommendations to clinical practice and future research studies.
